Academic terms

Academic CycleA time period such as a semester, term, or academic year.
ProgramA department-owned qualification or major with one or more versioned curricula.
Curriculum VersionA versioned set of program stages and course requirements assigned to a particular student batch.
Program StageA stable level, semester, year, or custom position inside a curriculum.
Program OfferingA time-bound relationship between a program, curriculum, and shared institute academic cycle.
Stage OfferingA stable program stage made available inside one program offering.
Student MajorThe durable student enrollment in one program and pinned curriculum version.
Standalone DeliveryA cohort or section that is not mapped to a defined program.
Program-Mapped DeliveryA cohort offering or section linked to a stage offering and, for sections, a course requirement.
CourseA subject such as Mathematics, Biology, or English.
SectionThe actual class students attend for a course in a specific cycle.
CohortA group of students that usually move through the same academic period together.
EnrollmentThe connection that places a student into a cohort or section.
MaterialA file, link, or learning resource shared with a class.
Attendance RecordA saved status showing whether a student attended a class activity.
Cycle ArchiveA verified immutable snapshot created after an academic cycle is completed.
Past RecordsThe read-only search and section view backed by ready cycle archives.

Grading and transcript terms

TermMeaning
AssessmentA graded task such as an assignment, quiz, project, exam, or class activity.
GradebookThe place where teachers and admins review and enter marks.
Published GradeA grade students can see but that may still change.
Finalized GradeA grade treated as ready for official transcript use.
Answerbook ReferenceAn optional identifier recorded on one student grade for its physical or digital answerbook.
Answerbook AttachmentAn optional PDF or image attached to one student grade and locked with archived records.
TranscriptAn academic record showing courses, marks, credit hours, GPA, and related results.
Credit HoursThe academic weight of a course. Higher credit hours can give a course more influence in weighted GPA.
Letter GradeThe letter result matched from marks, such as A, B, or F.
Grade PointsThe number value assigned to a letter grade.
Quality PointsGrade points multiplied by credit hours.
GPAThe grade point average for a selected academic period.
CGPAThe cumulative grade point average across multiple periods.
GPA PolicyThe school rulebook for turning marks into letter grades, grade points, GPA, and CGPA.

Finance and communication terms

Financial StructureA reusable plan for a charge or expense, such as monthly tuition.
Financial EntryA specific payable amount created from a structure or finance action.
TransactionA confirmed money record tied to an entry, such as a confirmed fee payment or salary payment.
Audit LogA history record that explains what changed, who changed it, when it changed, and what finance item it affected.
Payment ClaimA request saying a payment was made and needs staff verification.
AnnouncementA broad notice sent to a selected audience.
