Transcripts

Generate academic records with marks, percentages, letter grades, credit hours, GPA, and CGPA.

Transcript calculation

A transcript is the student academic record for a cycle or set of cycles. It uses finalized grades, assessment weights, course credit hours, and the GPA policy assigned to each academic cycle.

  • Raw percentage and final percentage are shown separately when both are available.
  • Letter grade and grade points come from the cycle GPA policy.
  • Quality points equal grade points multiplied by credit hours.
  • Total credit hours should sum the displayed course credit hours for the transcript scope.
  • CGPA is calculated cumulatively across returned transcript cycles.
  • When a course has a section result relationship, the transcript shows one final course result with component rows underneath.
  • Historical sections marked excluded can remain visible for context but should not contribute to GPA, CGPA, rank, or merit.

Why finalized grades matter

Draft and Published grades can still change. Finalized grades are the ones treated as ready for official transcript calculation.

Component transcript results

A related-section course can show separate component results and one final weighted course result. This helps schools keep labs, practicals, tutorials, clinics, studios, and other independent class parts visible without treating one section as the child of another.

How the result is built

Teachers grade assessments inside each related section normally.
Only finalized grades are used for official transcript calculation.
EduVerse calculates each section result using the existing assessment weights.
The section relationship applies the configured component weights.
The final weighted percentage is converted to letter grade, grade points, GPA, and CGPA using the cycle GPA policy.
Transcript lineWhat it means
Physics Final Result: 84%The weighted course result used for GPA.
Theory: 82%The student result from the Theory section.
Lab: 90%The student result from the Lab section.
Missing component resultThe final course result may be incomplete until every required component has finalized grades and the student has the correct related-section enrollment.

Historical consistency

Review component weights before finalization. EduVerse blocks relationship changes after linked finalized grades exist so old transcript results do not silently change.

Common mistakes

  • Expecting draft or published grades to appear on official transcripts.
  • Changing the default GPA policy and expecting old finalized cycles to recalculate.
  • Forgetting that total credit hours should add up across the displayed courses.
  • Reading quality points as a separate grade instead of grade points multiplied by credit hours.
