Getting Started
Quick Start Guide
Get your school operational on EduVerse in the right order. Follow this checklist to avoid configuration mistakes.
Before you begin
EduVerse requires configuration in a specific order because later features depend on earlier setup. Skipping steps or doing them out of order will cause missing options, empty dropdowns, or broken workflows.
Plan your academic structure first
Before touching EduVerse, decide departments, institute cycle names, course lists, grading policy, optional programs/curricula, and class groups. Having these ready makes setup much faster.

- 1Configure Organization: Set school name, logo, contact email, and appearance in Settings.
- 2Create Departments: Add the academic departments that own courses, programs, and scoped administration.
- 3Configure GPA Policy: Review the default 4.0 policy or create a custom policy that matches your grading rules.
- 4Create Academic Cycle: Create your first term or semester (e.g. "Fall 2026"). Select the GPA policy for this cycle.
- 5Create Courses: Add each subject with the correct credit hours. Course names appear on transcripts.
- 6Create Programs if used: Attach shared cycles in order, define curriculum stages and course requirements, then activate a complete admissions curriculum.
- 7Create Cohorts: Group students and choose standalone or program-mapped delivery.
- 8Create Sections: Link each section to its course and institute cycle. Map it to a program requirement when applicable.
- 9Assign Teachers: Add teacher accounts and assign them to their sections.
- 10Admit Students: Create/import student accounts, assign a major when applicable, and place them in the correct cohorts/sections.
- 11Create Timetable: Add schedule slots for each section, selecting the assigned teacher, day, time, and room.
- 12Upload Materials: Teachers upload course materials to their assigned sections.
- 13Create Assessments: Teachers create assessments with due dates, total marks, and submission settings.
- 14Begin Operations: Students can now view timetables, access materials, submit work, and check grades.
Common setup mistakes
- Creating sections before courses: sections need a course to attach to.
- Creating schedules before assigning teachers: only assigned teachers can be selected for a schedule.
- Skipping GPA policy setup: the default policy works, but review it before teachers start grading.
- Creating duplicate courses instead of multiple sections: one course can have many sections.
- Forgetting to set credit hours: the default is 3, but some courses need different values for accurate GPA.
- Duplicating one institute cycle for every program instead of reusing the shared cycle.
- Assigning a primary department manually when the student major should derive it.
- Marking mapped cohorts or sections as standalone because the curriculum mapping is incomplete.
