Mail purpose
Mail is best for formal or longer communication. It keeps messages in a thread so users can review the conversation later.
- Use chat for quick back-and-forth conversations.
- Use mail for official notes, longer explanations, or messages that need a clearer record.
- Unread mail contributes to notification and navigation badges.
Attachments
Mail can include attachments where supported. Users should only attach files that are relevant to the school workflow and safe to share with the recipients.
End-to-end encrypted
User-composed Mail subjects, messages, and supported Mail attachments are end-to-end encrypted for trusted recipient devices. Mail search uses metadata and routing details, not private encrypted subject or message text.
